The Frenchman Jacques Alexandre is one of the very great photographers in Europe today. Born in Arcachon, he received his artistic training at the Academy of fine Arts in Bayonne (France) and his photographic training at the State College of Photography in Cologne (Germany).
Between 1966 and 1968 he won the 2nd Award of the Asahi Pentax World Photo Contest and the 1st Award of the French-German Youth Organisation Photo Contest.
He received his Grade of Master in Photography in 1968, was head photographer for advertising and fashion at the department stores “Kaufhof” in 1969 and freelance cameraman for the German TV from 1970 to 1975. In this time he also started to work as a freelance photo designer for international art publications: Postcards, posters, calendars, books.
International activity: Beauty, life style and artistic photography, editorial, photo books, calendars, exhibitions. Contributor to the leading stock and advertising agencies, magazines and publishers.
Alexandre photographs with the aesthetic sensitivity that is so characteristic of him. The diversity of his imagery is evidence of great creativity and acute sensibility.
